Bicycle lovers cafe
Remember when good coffee was a teaspoonful of powder, hot water and a splash of milk and that was it? Well, things have changed and you can’t walk through the city without stumbling upon an independent coffee house serving speciality coffee, like Look Mum No Hands, for example.
With their growing arrival, the clever ones came to realise they would need to be different to really stand out. So, whether it’s an underground space in a Victorian gentleman’s bog (link to Attendant) or a florist-come-cafe-come-garden, these days, you’re really spoiled for choice.
Look Mum No Hands (an early contender on the scene) marries the love of specialist coffee with the love of bicycles, creating a home for cyclists, to drop in, meet other enthusiasts and do things like watching the Tour de France together. There’s usually something going on in the evening, from talks, workshops, speed dating for bicycle fanatics or just a good old party. Each month also sees a ‘bike jumble’ where you can browse for bike bits before brunch.
Serving up Square Mile Coffee since day one, they’re also known for their breakfast, lunch and beer, which are typically sourced from within the city itself. Love coffee, love bicycles, or just fancy a nibble and a chat with pals some place unusual, Look Mum No Hands is a pretty great choice for a super laid back hour or two.
