West country craft cider and pizza
If you’re a lover of cider, you’re in luck. The Stable, Whitechapel, is not one, but two bars split across the building serving, arguably, the most diverse range in the city. Referring to themselves as a ‘cathedral of cider’, the Stable is just one of the few beautiful properties that owners Nikki and Richard have slowly expanded across the country since starting in a decrepit old hotel and stable in Dorset.
With a vision to transform old spaces into modern, new ones that serve sourdough pizza, cider and pies – with ingredients from small scale and local producers – no matter where the location, you’ll find excellent grub under every roof.
What’s more, they’ve also brought their love for good, live music into each venue called, aptly, the ‘Stable Sessions’, so that you can enjoy it too. At the Whitechapel premises, you’re as likely to find ‘The King Crabber’ pizza (Hand picked West Country crabmeat lightly infused with red chilli, garlic and lemon. Fresh tomato sauce, roasted red peppers, fresh basil leaves, topped with mozzarella. Finished with crème fraiche, lemon wedge and parsley) as you are London ciders and a string band.
