Cocktails and campfire at the Brunel museum
An unusual combination of outdoors campfire-jolly meets theatrically-delivered engineering history, the Midnight Apothecary is an curious and original evening experience and another entry to our eclectic drinks collection.
Feel like a hunter-gatherer for one moment as you sip herb-muddled cocktails picked from a wild and weedy garden. At the next, a budding historian enthusiast and explorer, as you are led downwards into a Gothic space on an fascinating history tour.
For a reasonable entry price, enjoy glowing bonfires with free marshmallows that you can toast on a stick and an interesting menu of cocktails to select from. Many of the ingredients grown within the garden. The tour follows later and tells the history of how the Brunel Museum came to be. Listen to the story of the perils of building the first ever tunnel under the Thames back in 1848 – proclaimed then as the eighth wonder of the world.
