The home of puppetry
If you have fond memories of Punch and Judy and playful puppetry shows from your school days, then the Little Angel Theatre will be a total joy for you and any small person in your company. Since 1961, this internationally recognised theatre, based in Islington, has been dedicated to bringing a variety of inspiring stories creatively to life, capturing imaginations with its inventiveness, wit and remarkable skill.
A visit to the Little Angel Theatre makes for a wonderful family occasion and at the same time you’ll be supporting an educational cause which aims to nurture creativity and break down barriers to arts engagement. The Little Angel Theatre not only dazzles its audiences with beautiful, carefully choreographed performances, but it also equips enthusiastic novice puppeteers with the tools and confidence they need to succeed going forward. The company offers workshops and courses for everyone keen to learn more about the art-form of puppetry.
What started as a small group of dedicated puppeteers in the 1960s, inspired to transform a derelict hall into a magic little theatre, has now grown into a well-known and highly respected company. The Little Angel Theatre travels the country and globe with its productions and also hosts many fellow companies in their premises, demonstrating their commitment to bringing the art and entertainment of puppetry to everyone imaginable. It’s hard not to be moved by Little Angel Theatre’s endeavours and theirs is such a worthy cause to support. You can find out more about all their different productions and events on their website and you can be guaranteed a real family treat if you take the time to see a performance at their delightful little theatre.
