Beeswax candle rolling and honey beer
Honey and beer, what’s not to love? A traditional type of beer, you could argue that Hiver are pretty traditional themselves, with the benefit of also being modern. They ‘bee-lieve’ (sorry, too easy) in good craftsmanship, with a passion for local and well-trodden industries, which is why everything about them is British, right down to the stamp on their business cards.
They blend really good quality honey from independent, urban beekeepers with the same standard of beer, reinvesting 10% back into pollinator programmes in London. You’ll find them on Sundays at Maltby Street Market, as well as the Slow Food Market at Rosewood Hotel. You can try their products there, as well as purchasing the honey they use, and wildflower seed bombs in case you feel like doing bees a favour and growing them flowers to sup on.
What’s more, they also like to have a bit of fun, staging small festivals and events to encourage engagement with beekeeping, while also tasting the product. We were fortunate enough to join them for ‘Hiver-ween’ where we hand-rolled candles from beeswax and carved pumpkins. We look forward to their practical beekeeping workshops in the summer and watching where else they take their fantastic product and ethos.
