Love or hate it, London is one of the most diverse cities in the world; full of countless things to see, sense and experience. Where else could you find the pickled remains of the extinct Dodo, climb the stairs of a church to find a Victorian operating theatre in the eaves, or look at modern art in an old horse stable?

With all these options at your disposal, it can often be overwhelming, especially when it comes to maintaining a work/life balance, let alone managing the pennies to make the most of everything that is at your fingertips.

We all love to have fun outside of work but finding something to do in our spare time can often be challenging. As creatures of habit, we tend to gravitate to what we know or what we find convenient: ending up at the same bars, the same restaurants, the same places to have fun. This can result in a very repetitive lifestyle; it can all get a little ‘samey’ and, yet, it shouldn’t.

Even the most enthusiastic of Londoners has felt that feeling that they are done with London, but often all it takes is a new perspective, sometimes just a new experience that brings them round to realising what a fantastic City this really is.

A common misconception is that you need to have money to have fun in London. It certainly does help but it isn’t essential. If you are prepared to look, you’ll find a wealth of things to do that won’t cost you a fortune.

At Something Different we realise this and aim to provide a platform for you to discover new and exciting things to do in the capital, geared towards alternative and unusual experiences, which also, as a general rule, don’t cost a fortune.
