Mysterious games in the City
If you’re looking to get interactive in London but don’t know how, A Door In A Wall have done just the job for you. Designers of ‘real world’ games, they have created adventures that will see you racing around the city to unlock clues, or within the confines of special locations. Think mysterious murders, disappearances and more, all waiting to be solved by a group of young sleuths.
We were fortunate enough to attend a public game (some of them are private) called ‘A Veiled Threat’ within which we had to unlock the terrible truth of a family secret ahead of a big wedding. Running up and down the staircase of an old Islington pub – stopping for chips and cocktails along the way – we set out to discover clues, charm characters for information, and solve the mystery before the knot was tied.
Games of this kind run on the third Tuesday of every month at the Dead Doll’s House Pub on Upper Street, but there are many more dotted around the city, including an upcoming event in collaboration with Camden Market. ‘Horses for Corpses’ is a treasure hunt that will have you scouring the market for secrets that will crack a fiendish case.
